Motorcyclist falls 15 feet off overpass, onto Highway 59 in southwest Houston

HOUSTON — A motorcyclist was badly injured Thursday afternoon after falling onto Highway 59 northbound following an accident in southwest Houston, the Harris County Constable’s Office Pct. 5 said.

Firefighters were called to scene near 610 South.

Investigators said the rider hit the railing of an overpass covering the Southwest Freeway, was tossed over and landed on the highway below. Officers said it isn’t clear whether another vehicle was involved in the incident.

It was a 15 feet drop, officers said.

Paramedics performed CPR at the scene.

No word yet on his condition.
