HUMBLE, Texas - Daveon Boyd has made a habit of getting into the end zone this year for the Atascocita Eagles.

"The feeling of scoring a touchdown, it's like when your mom makes homemade food and you haven`t eaten in a while," Boyd said.

The senior quarterback is getting ready for Saturday's state semifinal against Lake Travis.

"It's a really good feeling, especially when you're going this far. I knew this team could be really good. I just knew we had to focus and dial in on the little things, and that's what we've been doing."

Boyd used to play basketball, baseball and track, but has since focused on football. Outside of school, as a member of Grace Church, he volunteers to serve food to homeless people and has also done charity work at the Houston Food Bank.
