PASADENA, Texas - The hopes for a happy holiday went up in smoke for one Pasadena family after a fire ripped through a house while three people were inside.

Pasadena  Fire Marshall David Brannon, "We had three folks in the house at the time. we had a mother, grandmother, and granddaughter. Grandmother was able to get out of house safely. Mother jumped out of a second story window. We have a 17-year old victim that perished in the fire.'

Lisa Brady, a neighbor, says"I hate to see it. All I hear is sirens. I didn't know someone passed away until this morning."

The fire is under investigation but arson is not suspected. The medical examiner has yet to positively identify the victim, but social media posts identify her as Alma Adame.

Now, the family is left to pick up the pieces of what's left of their home while people bring teddy bears and keepsakes to help the family to cope.

Brady says, "Hopefully they'll build everything back up again. School kids are going to miss this child. It's a tragedy."
