Inside Story: Taste the holiday spirit with Houston’s best Christmas time brews

HOUSTON — Who's in the Christmas spirit?

Tis the season of good food, good friends and the best holiday beer the Bayou City has to offer!

We start the savory six-pack scavenger hunt at Karbach Brewing Company— but be careful! It's loaded with cocoa, ginger, cinnamon and orange peel: Yule Shoot Your Eye Out.

St. Arnold's doubles down in our six-pack stocking stuffer. The Christmas Ale's been known to wet the beak since 1995. It's cut in bread pudding with cinnamon and vanilla bean. It’s a family classic for sure.

For the extra indulgent holiday libation, there's the one time only release of Icon Blue, otherwise known at the chocolate milk stout. It's made from chocolate supplied from chef Hugo Ortega himself.

For the nostalgic holiday, the Merry Buffing Xmas brew at Buffalo Bayou Brewing Company will buzz the hop head in all of us. Infused with pine and aged with spruce tips, the brew has a wonderful aroma of the perfect Christmas tree.

Time to crack open a Christmas cold one and guzzle down some holiday cheer in today's Inside Story from the pages of Houstonia.
