SAN ANTONIO, TX – There’s a new battle brewing in San Antonio. It’s not over the Alamo, but some people see it as a fight for liberty and a battle against government oppression.

As of October first, students at John Jay High School and Anson Jones Middle School in the Northside Independent School District have to wear new student ID badges.

Yeah, badges, only these stinking badges have a locator radio chip that will allow school administrators to keep track of every student at all times while in school.

Some reports say students who refused faced suspension, or worse , getting barred from voting for homecoming king and queen!

This hi-tech cattle-tagging affects about 4,200 students, but it could expand to the 100,000 or so students in the entire district.

It’s supposed to increase student safety and security, and increase attendance, while providing students with a smart student ID they can use all over campus.

Of course, wearing a ‘smart’ badge isn`t going to make anyone smarter. And isn’t that what school is all about?
