Man arrested for using counterfeit money at garage sale

FRIENDSWOOD, TX – What started off as just another treasure hunt at a Friendswood garage sale, turned into a visit to the slammer and it was all over a measly two dollars.

Friendswood police say Jimmy Estes bought a shirt from a neighborhood garage sale. Problem was he paid for it with a counterfeit $20 bill.

Police caught up with Estes by tracking down the car witnesses saw him leave in. Whoever taught this guy how to make fake money wasn’t very good at it, Estes was found with 13 more $20 bills and a fake $50 in his wallet.

The big spender’s bail is set at $40,000 in real money!
