SANAA, YEMEN – American embassies in the Middle East have become targets in recent weeks and the violence shows no signs of slowing down. Our embassy in Yemen’s capital Sanna, is the latest to lose a loyal employee.

Qassem Aqlan was shot and killed by masked gunmen who ambushed his security chief on his way to work. Aqlan had been with the embassy for 11 years and was the direct liaison between America and Yemen’s local authorities.

With one less person working on our side in a feuding country, things are not looking good… not good at all.
