HOUSTON, TX – Apparently the University of Houston cougars are actually a bunch of pirates.

No, not that kind of pirate!

According to a study by ScanEye, the University of Houston is third on the list of top torrenting schools. For those who don’t know, torrenting is predominantly used to illegally download movies and music.

Rutgers and NYU are the only schools doing more pirating than UH.

A different study by the American Assembly shows an ironic twist on illegal online file-sharing: People who share music online also purchase 30% more music than those who don’t file-share.

Kind of ironic that the record labels’ worst enemy is also their best customer.
