NEW YORK – One more state is stickin’ it to discrimination.

A Federal appeals court in New York says the Defense of Marriage Act is unconstitutional.

The law denies federal benefits to married same-sex couples and pretty much leaves it up to the states to decide if they want to recognize the marriage at all.

New York now joins Boston in saying, “That ain’t fair!”

As for all of you Dan Cathy supporters out there, don’t get your drawers in a wad. This is all mainly symbolic. But it might be a major indication of what’s yet to come. The issue is expected to be picked up by the U.S. Supreme Court.

So, friends of equality, rejoice.
