WORLD – Scientific research can be very important. Some studies can save people, or make their lives better. This study isn’t one of them. This frivolous study finds that Facebook might be making people fat. Really? Who knows how much money was spent to come up with that declaration, but let’s break that down for you.

Two marketing professors, one from the University of Pittsburgh and the other from Columbia University poked around social media sites and studied the people who use them, finding that folks who network generally feel better about themselves.

The professors claim the ego boost people get from social media can influence behavior by reducing self-control, which might lead to overindulging. In other words… over spending and overeating.
