HOUSTON, TX – We all know the famous words from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. “I have a dream.”

It’s that dream that’s inspirnig Houston area fourth and fifth graders.

Select students had to answer the question, “If you could talk directly to Dr. King about your dream for our future, what would you tell him?”

Their answers were quite impressive.

One student from Thompson Elementary said, “If I could talk directly to Dr. King about my dream for our future, it will be to stop bullying in our schools as weel as the workplace.”

Another said, “My dream for the future is to become a lawyer in education to help all children who are not provgided a free, appropraite education.”

You’d think these kids were in high school.

A total of 24 school participate in this MLK Oratorical Competition. 12 finalists will present their speeches at Antioch Baptist Church on the Friday before MLK Day.

Best of luck, kids! Keep dreaming big!
