Researchers discover 9 new species of tarantulas

BRAZIL – Science fans… do you hate spiders? Then you might want to avoid Brazil for a while.

Researchers have found nine new species of tarantulas in the Atlantic Rain Forest.

Since they were just discovered all we know about these colorful new arachnids is they’re tree huggers and they like high elevations.

This discovery means there’s 16 species of tarantulas at least, right now.  At the rate the Rainforest is shrinking and popularity of the exotic pet trade all the new species are already considered threatened or endangered.

There’s no doubt these colorful creatures will be popular on the exotic pet market. Who wouldn’t want what one person called a ‘cross between a Muppet and a nightmare?’

So take a good look now… you may not have another chance.
