HOUSTON, TX – If you turned on the TV Monday morning, the car accident involving Harris County Sheriff Sgt. Felix Dlouhy was all anyone was talking about. Fortunately, as the dust and debris settled, things aren’t as bad as initially thought. So here’s what we know now.

30 Year veteran of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, Sgt. Felix Dlouhy, was going to check out a report of a stabbing early Monday morning, when he ran into trouble. Literally!

Media Relations Manager, Christina Garza told us, “Three other patrol units had already made it through the intersection. Sgt Dlhouy’s vehicle was the fourth to make it through that intersection. His light turned red, there was another car coming in that intersection, a white suburban, and the Sgt’s vehicle ended up t-boning that vehicle.”

After being thrown from her car, the woman driving the white SUV was taken to Ben Taub. Her condition isn’t being released, but she’s expected to be okay.

Sgt. Dlouhy was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital and other than some broken bones; he’s expected to be alright too.

With as bad as things looked, it seems both drivers have a lot to be thankful for this Turkey day.
