Our Class Act of the week is Lauren Bogany from the High School of Performing and Visual Arts. Bogany was at a loss for words when talking about the show ‘Cinderella’. She’s a part of the cast who is starring at the ensemble theatre.
“It was at first a challenge for me because I had really big stage fright and I have an issue with worrying what people have to say about me.” said Bogany.
Stephanie Wittles, an acting teacher at HSPVA, doesn’t think Bogany has anything to worry about.
“Lauren is an incredibly talented young singer, dancer, and actor. She is a triple threat.” said Wittles.
Besides getting over her stage fright, the play has also taught Bogany how to balance her time. “I have to have time for school work, then homework and then rehearsal time, then play time and then balance a home life as well,” said Bogany.
It’s a home life where she gets plenty of support including from her grandmother who rarely misses one of her shows.
Bogany is a solid student who is not only on top of her grades, but also willing to go the extra mile.
“She has been involved for the last three years in our black history program here at HSPVA which is a really big opportunity for our students here at school.” said Wittles.
Lauren said she loves performing arts and hopes to make that her career.
Like Cinderella, if you keep on believing, the dream that you wish will come true.
