DENVER, CO – Brassy, the NewsFix weather monkey, is issuing his first frozen junk alert of the season.

Even though Friday is the first day of winter, and the end of the world, according to the Maya, Brassy found some nasty winter weather headed to Houston, but luckily nothing like the snow storm out in Denver, which could leave about four inches on the ground before moving on.

The people in Wisconsin saw their first snow in 288 days, wrecker drivers in Milwaukee probably hated to see end.

And in Flagstaff, AZ, people woke up to eight inches of snow. So far, Flagstaff snowfall is above its December average of 17 inches.

And the Houston area could see a 20-degree drop in high temperatures for Thursday before slowly getting warmer over the weekend, which always makes brass monkeys happy.
