GWINNETT COUNTY, GA – A couple of guys in Georgia really wanted some chicken, so they helped themselves to 26,000 pounds of frozen chicken wings.

The guys must have been afraid of the looming chicken shortage expected during the Super Bowl.

But, there isn’t really a shortage of chicken, but chicken prices have gone up fourteen percent since last year’s Super Bowl.

And the prices are being blamed on drought conditions suffered throughout the country.

The two guys arrested in the chicken caper are employees of Nordic Cold Storage, a facility used by Tyson Foods to store the frozen wing.

No one is sure how the duo managed to smuggle over 5,000 bags of bird out of the building, but the street value is an estimated $65,000.

Maybe the bird brains weren’t so crazy after all.
