A sad end to the search for a New York woman who went missing while vacationing alone in Turkey.

The body of Sarai Sierra was found Saturday, nearly two weeks after she was reported missing.

Turkish police said the 33-year-old mother of two was found in a poor Istanbul neighborhood near remnants of ancient city walls.

Although autopsy results are not finished, police said they are pretty sure she died from a blow to the head.  They also said she was found with several stab wounds.

There have been reports that at least 15 people were detained for questioning, and so far nine have been arrested.

Sierra had traveled to Turkey to take pictures, and was last heard from on the day she was suppose to fly home.

Pictures are all that’s left of this photography enthusiast, while questions about what exactly happened to her remain undeveloped.
