HOUSTON, TX – Go ahead and say it. Oh, hail no! But yes, it is. Hail. And in Houston.

NewsFix viewer Max Withrow sent us some video he took as the hail hit Houston this morning, bouncing off of cars and pavements, and anyone caught outside when the storm rolled through.

The weather may have contributed to a pile up on the Gulf Freeway shortly before 7 a.m. At least four vehicles were involved, with some traffic reporters saying ten. Whatever, it closed portions of the Gulf for about an hour.

A tornado is something you don’t want to see outside your window. But that was the case in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, where a twister ripped through homes and businesses and damaged parts of the University of Southern Mississippi.

Up north, a winter storm dumped up to 15 inches of snow across seven states, with Minnesota and the Dakotas taking the brunt.

And the people in Connecticut, along with just about everyone from Boston to New York, are shoveling out from under several feet of snow.

So, if you live in Houston, please feel free to say ‘hail, yes!’
