Lifeguards rescue dolphin entangled in fishing line

NEAR LA JOLLA, CA – Flipper was a friendly dolphin who gave a helping fin to his human friends. But it was a dolphin near La Jolla, California was the one who really needed some help.

Marine biologists from Sea World and San Diego lifeguards rescued a dolphin entangled in fishing line. A person was kayaking in the area came across the distressed dolphin and called authorities.

Cell phone video shows rescuers successfully freeing the dolphin from the line after hour-long rescue. Biologists said the dolphin would have likely died without their help.
