ABILENE, TX – You know what they say: The best things in life are free.

Ruby Cooper would agree with that. She got a free car.

Car dealers get a bad rap, but Ray Braswell is different. He owns a successful car dealership in Abilene, Texas. It’s so successful, he and he and his wife decided to help somebody out.

That somebody was Ruby after her son sent the Braswell’s a letter nominating his mama for the free car giveaway.

Ruby’s son, Roman Johnson, said, “She deserves it. She’s been without a car for a couple of years.”

Braswell said, “I couldn’t stand to think about her walking four little ones to school every day and then buying groceries and everything else.”

So, Braswell handed Ruby the keys to her very own 2005 Ford Taurus. She says she won’t let the kids mess it up, “Cannot be putting no paper on the floor, no crayons, no markers, no nothing.”

As Ruby drives off in a car she didn’t have to pay for, let her story be a reminder that it’s always good to pay it forward.

That is nice of them. I have not had a car since 2003 when midas in Sherwood, Arkansas blew my engine up after leaving valve cover gasket. Sending oil all up in the hod knocking 3 big holes in my engine. They refused to pay to repair my 1996 Mazda Protege LX 4 door Since I am on disability I can not afford another car so I have to walk every where I go. My father passed away October 2010 from Pleural Mesothelioma. He served during the Korean War from 02/1952 to 12- 1953 when he was shot saving another navy man's life who had both legs blew off by land mind. I had $10,000 tied up in that car and they blew my engine up and refuse to pay to fix it.
