MIAMI, FL – Police in Miami have started enforcing a curfew for children under the age of 17. Those kids are not allowed to be out from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, and from midnight to 6 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.  There are some exceptions to the rule, such as being out with a parent or guardian, going to and from work or having written permission to be out running errands.

Police haven’t said why they are enforcing the curfew, other than just to keep kids safe, but some are saying it is because of a recent increase in violent and deadly street crimes involving kids.
