Man confesses to acid attack on Bolshoi Ballet director

MOSCOW – A lead dancer in Russia’s Bolshoi Ballet is in custody for planning an alleged acid attack on the company’s artistic director.

Pavel Dmitrichenko told police he did it because of a “hostile relationship” between the two.

Dmitrichenko and two others confessed on camera to throwing sulfuric acid on Sergei Filin, according to police.

Filin suffered third degree burns to his face and eyes.
