HOUSTON, TX – Talk about deserving a treat!  Family dogs may be the reason why eight people got out of a Houston home safely overnight.

“Thank God for our animals. They are like our children, if they hadn’t woken us up, who knows what would have happened,” said John Branch.

The fire on Caster and Whitney is believed to have started in Branch’s father’s room. He’s an elderly man with dementia.

Branch says they didn’t have insurance, and this is the second time in six months the house has caught fire.

“I don’t know where we will go, but there’s a God, so all things are possible,” he said with a tear.

My heart really goes out to this family. Is there a releif fund set up for them where we can make a donation and if not can we make one?
