WHIDBEY ISLAND, WA – If you live on Whidbey Island, you know you’re slip-slidin’ away.

A massive landslide took out at least one house and threatens dozens of others on the Puget Sound Island near Seattle.

Emergency personnel rescued 12 people. Some people escaped in boats. No one appears to be missing or dead.

The area has not received heavy rains, and an earthquake didn’t cause it, despite what some homeowners say.

Officials say more homes could be lost, and that all they can do is wait and watch.
