HOUSTON, TX – Shortly before midnight on Sunday, witnesses say a masked gunman drove up to a house in the 7300 block of Seton Lake Drive, in a silver SUV.  The driver of the SUV got out of the car, went up to the victim and began shooting.

Witnesses say they heard up to 30 shots and that hearing gun fire is not unusual in the neighborhood.

21-year-old Bernardo Barrera Jr. died in his garage, and deputies say his mother and sister were in the house at the time of the shooting.

Neighbors say there is a lot of gang activity in the area, but police say they are still unsure why Barrera was gunned down.
