HOUSTON, TX – Security guards are supposed to protect, but a former HISD security guard might be who female students need protecting from.

Devin Delarosa, 28, is charged with indecency with a child. HISD cops say Delarosa inappropriately touched a girl who went to Burbank Elementary and Burbank Middle School. They say several times from November 2010 through May 2012, he pulled the then 11-year-old into his office or closet to “check her for drugs.”

“Just cause he wears a uniform doesn’t mean it’s right. You know they look up to guys like that,” said Roger Contreras who lives near the school.

Although this is Delarosa’s only charge, records show he tried some inappropriate stuff with girls at Austin High School, but those weren’t put in his HISD personnel file.

This also happened at a time when school principals managed security guards. HISD cops have since taken over.

At the end of last school year, Delarosa was assigned to off-campus duties. He resigned from the district in December.

How could these allegations just fall through the cracks? It sounds like someone has some explaining to do.
