BESANÇON, FRANCE – Bras are supposed to help support breasts, right? Not according to a French researcher.

Jean-Denis Rouillon has spent the past 15 years measuring changes in breasts on more than 300 women age 18 – 35.

Rouillon determined that wearing a bra has not benefit to the weight of a breast, and the underwear actually prevents supporting tissue from growing which leads to sagging.

But ladies, don’t go burning your bras just yet. Rouillon said his research is preliminary and needs more evidence to support his theory.
