WACO, TX – President Obama and the First Lady headed south on Thursday, or more precisely, toward West.
While they were in the state for the dedication of the Bush library, the Obama’s also attended a memorial service in Waco for the 14 people killed in the fertilizer plant explosion last week.
The service was just another way for folks to pay respects. Funerals for the victims, who were mostly first responders, have also been hugely well attended.
“That’s the thing about this tragedy. This small town’s family is bigger now. It extends beyond the boundaries of West,” said President Obama at the ceremony.
City workers from Waco filled-in for West workers on Thursday, so they could attend the service.
In the meantime, the search for answers has not stopped. The cause of the blast is still unclear.
