syriaWASHINGTON, DC – President Obama finds himself in a position of international ‘put up or shut up’.

Back in August of 2012, the President drew a line in the Syrian sand in terms of the use of chemical weapons.

“A red line for us is we start seeing a whole bunch of chemicals moving around or being utilized,” he said.

Apparently someone stepped over that line, and now, the White House is trying to figure out just how big that step was.

“The US intelligence community assesses with some degree of varying confidence that the Syrian regime has used chemical weapons on a small scale,” Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel told reporters.

Arizona Republican senator John McCain came out fast and furious with an ‘I told you so’, pointing out that jihadists are gaining strength, that the Russians and Iranians continue to help Bashir al-Assad, and that the massacres continue.

“It requires the United States help and assistance. It does not mean boots on the ground. Finally, we have to have operational capability to secure these chemical weapons stocks.”

Something tells us that someone’s boots are going to be on the ground, and it’s a pretty good bet you’ll find American feet in them.
