Washington County Sheriff’s veteran Jerry Cusick has been an avid hunter his whole life. But while scouting some land, Jerry got shot…in the face!
He immediately yelled out for the man that shot him to call 911, and tried to do the same on his phone. Paramedics found him and got him to the hospital where they started to remove the 58 bird-shot pellets left lodged inside him.
They weren’t able to get them all though, he still has one lodged in his spine, and another just behind his eye.
Ironically enough, Jerry teaches firearms safety classes as part of his duties at the Sheriff’s office.
