Canada and Minnesota ice crawl destroys homes

A massive sheet of lake ice came creeping out of Mille Lacs Lake in Minnesota and headed straight for the homes surrounding the lake. The video is eerie to say the least, but folks in Minnesota didn’t get it nearly as badly as their neighbors to the north.

Residents living along Ochre Beach, Canada (near Manitoba) got more than their fair share of the creeping ice crystals.

Around 20 houses were destroyed as a massive wall of lake ice swept through their community. Canadian authorities are blaming high winds and warmer temperatures for the disaster, and have declared a state of emergency
