holleyHOUSTON, TX – Jury selection has begun for the trial of the last former Houston police officer charged in connection with this attack on burglary suspect Chad Holley in 2010.

Drew Ryser faces charges of criminal oppression in the incident. Holley was 15 at the time, and was later convicted of the burglary.

In March, Raad Hassan and Phil Bryan pleaded no contest to official oppression, a class ‘A’ misdemeanor. That means they neither admit nor deny the charge. In return, both men will be on two-years’ probation and will never wear a badge again.

Last year, a jury found Andrew Blomberg not guilty of the charges against him.

So this is a big roll of the dice for Ryser, who could end up being the only police officer convicted in criminal court as well as in the court of public opinion.
