HOUSTON – Don’t know if this man will win father of the year anytime soon. 34-year old Billy Joe Davis is answering to child endangerment charges. He’s accused of abandoning his 10-month old child in a parking lot on Mother’s Day.

The District Attorney’s office says Davis was supposedly driving while fighting with his girlfriend, who is also the mother of the child. The family then pulls up at a food mart so the mother could go into the store. That’s when

Davis allegedly took the child (car seat and all), sets him down in the parking lot, and drives off.

The mom eventually noticed and ran out to grab her son. She and the child are doing A-Okay.  Physically, at least.

For what it’s worth, Davis turned himself into the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force Thursday.

We all saw how their mother`s day went. Here`s hoping their father`s day goes a lot smoother.
