stormFLORIDA – Hurricane season officially started on June 1st, and Mother Nature is right on schedule. Four days later she popped out Tropical Storm Andrea, the first named storm of the Atlantic Hurricane season.

Andrea is relatively small and weak. The storm only has winds of about 60mph. Residents from the Keys to Tampa woke up the winds and rain. Weather forecasters say the rain will be the biggest problem Andrea will bring.

While Florida is hunkering down, the storms came and went in Lubbock. It was nothing tropical, just a good ol’ spring storm.

The storm did a number on the roofs of a hotel, gas station and hospital. A mobile home was also blown into the road. Power in the area was also knocked out and some roads were flooded.

But get ready Florida because when it rains, it pours. And to think, this is only the start.
