Police dog pays last respects to partner

figoNELSON COUNTY, KY – The canine sidekick of a Kentucky police officer killed in the line of duty was by his partner’s side until the very end.

33-year-old officer, Jason Ellis, was ambushed and shot to death as he was headed home from work.

Just before Ellis was lowered to the ground, his K9 partner Figo placed his paw on his casket, as if he was giving his last goodbye.

Figo, now retired, will go on to Ellis’ widow Amy and their two 6 and 7-year-old sons family dog.
