HOUSTON – The Houston Humane Society is one of 50 animal shelters across the country chosen in the Rachael Ray $100,000 Challenge.

The idea is challenging the shelter to break its own record of saving pets lives during the summer.

As part, today the Humane Society is holding a Hurricane Preparedness event offering shots and micro chipping for just $30. Yes, micro chipping.

Pet owners came out in spades to ready their pets.

Let`s do what we can to help the humane society win this thing. Adopt a new best friend today. The $100,000 Challenge ends August 31st.
