HARRIS COUNTY – Harris County Sheriff’s officials say they finally know who killed a 68-year-old Houston woman nearly 25 years ago.
November 11, 1987, Jacqueline Anderson was found murdered in her home in the 200 block of West Hambrick Rd.
“She was found in a bedroom hog tied with a rope around her feet and around her neck, as she was strangled to death,” said Sgt. Eric Clegg with HCSO.
The investigation went cold after one year. But new evidence recently led detectives to Roman Martinez, who was Anderson’s neighbor at the time of her murder.
During questioning, detectives got what they needed out of Martinez: a confession.
Anderson’s grandson, Tony Davis, says the family thought this day would never come.
Martinez is now in custody and charged with capital murder.
At 71-years-old, Martinez might never be a free man again.
