NEW YORK, NY – Southwest Airlines flight 345 from Nashville to New York’s LaGuardia airport came to a screeching halt on Monday.

“The nose wheels specifically collapsed. The aircraft skidded down the runway on its nose, and then veered off and came to rest on a grass area,” said LaGuardia’s General Manager, Thomas Bosco.

All 150 passengers safely evacuated using emergency slides on the runway.

A statement from the Federal Aviation Association said in-part that “no injuries were immediately reported,” but later on, word of ten reportedly minor ones came in.

All of this comes just weeks after three people died in an Asiana Airlines failed landing in San Francisco. Both crashes are under investigation.
