NEW YORK, NY – It was supposed to be a wedding on the horizon, but now wakes will go on instead.

On Friday night, a boating accident in New York`s Hudson River killed a bride-to-be and best man. Lindsey Stewart and Mark Lennon died when their small motor boat hit a construction barge near a bridge. The groom and three other friends on-board were seriously hurt.

Cops say the driver of the boat was intoxicated and has been charged with vehicular manslaughter and vehicular assault. But investigators also say the barge may not have been properly lit.

Stewart and Brian Bond were supposed to be married on August 10. Her family has asked people to “pray for our loss.”
