WASHINGTON, DC – Three days, 76 cities, 150 arrests, and 105 children forced into prostitution.
It was all part of the FBI’s Operation Cross Country 7. The major sweep across America was aimed at putting pimps behind bars and saving sexually exploited kids.
Most of the kids were girls and ranged in age from 13 to 17.
“Our goal is to get these young girls into some form of treatment and to help them reshape their lives and reclaim their innocence to the extent they can,” said Ronald Hosko, Assistant Director for FBI Criminal Investigative Division.
We’re told three of the kids were from Houston, although we don’t know anything else about them.
We know at least 21 of the kids were identified by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Hosko said, “All of the child victims identified were removed from dangerous environments.”
There’s a hard road ahead for these kids and their families. At least, for now, it will be a safer one.
