HOUSTON, TX – A 3-year-old boy is fighting for his life while authorities and lawyers dispute who shot the boy at his northwest Harris County home early Wednesday morning.

“There was a gunshot from the outside. It entered the house, and it hit the three year old in the back,” said prosecutor John Wakefield.

The suspect is Izacc Williams, 20, who lives across the street from the victim’s home.

He and someone in the home are said to have had some kind of beef prior to the shooting.

Williams’ attorney, Ken Mingledorff, says he wasn’t the shooter.

“Izacc doesn’t own a gun, didn’t have a gun, and didn’t shoot a gun. He was in a car with someone who did have a gun,” said Mingledorff.

Williams is charged with aggravated assault. The judge raised his bond from $50,000 to $100,000.

Williams is due back in court September 12.

Meanwhile, the little boy faces a tough road ahead.
