PRINCESS ANNE, MD – There’s a new whiteboard being distributed to the classrooms of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. The whiteboards are bulletproof.

The company that makes the boards says it’s marketing the boards as an extra line of defense in schools because of school shootings.

The boards don’t come cheap. They’re going to set the university back about $60,000, but the school says they’re necessary because of the school shootings in recent years.

You could call it a sign of the times, but the fact that we even have to think about protecting ourselves at school from bullets; that’s just more like a sign of the sad times.
