zachMILTON, GA – When some people can’t deliver on the basketball court, they’ll use any excuse to make up for their shortcomings. Zach Hodskins has an excuse, but it’s not that’s keeping him from getting far in the game of basketball.

Zach is a one-handed basketball player. The Georgia teen was born without his left and lower arm, but that hasn’t stopped him from breaking it down on the court.

His coach says Zach is even better than some players with two hands. In fact, he’s so good; the University of Florida has offered him a spot on the team as a walk-on next year. Zach says the offer from the Gators is a dream come true.

“It means the world for me because my whole life I’ve worked for this opportunity and for somebody to notice me,” Zach said.

Zach’s coach says he wouldn’t be surprised if Zach manages to earn a scholarship at Florida because of his talent and drive.
