PASADENA, TX – He was supposed to be starting his senior year at Sam Rayburn High School Tuesday.
“My goal is to be successful in high school, go to college, and do somethin’ different.” That’s what LaTrone Williams told NewsFix in an interview last school year.
A true “Class Act,” NewsFix is heartbroken to learn LaTrone died in a car accident Wednesday night.
Tron, as his friends and family knew him, was a star varsity running back and a team leader.
In our Class Acts interview, head football coach David Satcher said “A lotta kids kind of gravitate towards him and feed off of his energy, you know, both on and off the field.”
Off the field, he worked hard inside the classroom and made an impact on his peers.
“He was one of those who just kind of stuck out. He always had a smile on his face… he’s kind of a humble kid but he’s real fun to be around, he’s just kind of one of those kids that brightens the room when you get there,” said Satcher.
Classmates joined together at the school Thursday to give back some of that light with a candle light vigil.
A testament to his popularity, Twitter went crazy throughout the day with hundreds of #RIPTRON hashtags from those who didn’t know him to those who were set to walk with him across that graduation stage.
Rest in peace, Tron. You were taken way too soon.
