Separation of church and weave?! A pastor in Waco, Texas, recently told his leadership staff at Resurrecting Faith Church, not to wear weaves because they’re a distraction from getting in touch with your inner self.

“Our black women are getting weaves trying to be something and someone they are not. Be real with yourself is all I’m saying” Pastor Aamir told America Preachers.

The 39-yr-old Pastor also got to the real root of the issue. The money…

“I lead a church where our members are struggling financially. I mean really struggling. “Yet, a 26 year old mother in my church has a $300 weave on her head. NO. I will not be quiet about this.”

He went on to say, “Long hair don’t care. What kind of mess is that? I don’t want my members so focused on what’s on their heads and not IN their heads.”

Maybe he should take his own advice and get this notion of a weave being the devil out of his head. Not to preach to the choir or anything, but until hell freezes over, the last thing a man should do is tell a woman what to do with her hair. That’s a sin. And for all we know Jesus could’ve had a weave. Have you seen the pics of his luscious locks, just saying.

I have a feeling you’re going to be having some empty seats this Sunday pastor. All the women will be saying a little prayer for you at their sanctuary…the beauty shop.

And that’s today’s helping of The Online Dish with Maggie.

This pastor will have blood on his hands. What do weave have to do with saving my soul. Is the weave too much for him to handle? All of his members will be gone. And how do he know how much the lady weave cost?
