LIBERTY COUNTY, TX – Liberty County Sheriff’s Department says a 4-year-old girl is in the hospital after getting hit by a car. Authorities say her 12-year-old sister behind the wheel.
The sheriff’s department says the girl was driving a 2006 Chevy from her house to do some work at a nearby barn on the family’s property. As she drove, her four-year-old sister and a couple of other kids started playing around the car. The kid driver told the kids to scram.
“She thought they had gotten back. She drove the 40 yards. As she stepped out, the other kids began screaming and yelling,” said Captain Ken DeFoor.
That’s when the driver ran to the front of the car and saw her sister pinned under the wheels. The 4-year-old was taken to Hermann Hospital via Life Flight.
“The deputy said it looked like that most of the injuries was below the right hip bone,” said Capt. DeFoor.
The sheriff’s department says charges probably won’t be filed. Though by the looks of it, these sisters have suffered enough.
