pastaLUBBOCK, TX – Eddie Castillo had an unusual way of saying ‘cheese’ for his official id photo at the department of motor vehicles in Lubbock.

The Texas Tech student made one of the biggest, cheesiest smiles, while sporting a pasta strainer on his head.

No, this was not a college prank; instead it’s a symbol of his religion.

Castillo is a practicing “Pastafarian” and member of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

Yes, you heard right.

The name may sound a bit odd; but this religious group, which started in 2005 by a group of self-proclaimed atheists, actually has millions of followers.

And Castillo fought state officials for months to wear his religious head-gear.

Castillo is now the first person in the United States to be permitted to wear this kind of religious symbol in a government issued photo.

Hey, at least we know he’ll have some pasta to go with that cheesy grin.
