Havana, Cuba – A 64 year old endurance swimmer, is hoping she can finally go the distance this Labor Day Weekend.

Diana Nyad set out Saturday morning, on her fifth and final attempt to swim from Cuba to the Florida Keys. Nyad has been trying for 35 years to complete the 103 mile swim without a shark cage, flippers, or a wet suit. The last few times Diana tried, she had to quit because of dehydration, ocean currents, and jellyfish stings to her tongue.

Diana says it’s all about navigating that fine line between giving up and moving on. This time we hope Diana can finally set the record she has been paddling towards for man than three decades.
