HOUSTON, TX – Fighting fires is serious business in Houston and around the world. That’s why the Houston Fire Department, along with the ‘Fires Foundation,’ had a training session. They got together with a group of firefighters from Latin America.

The foundation allows educational opportunities to firefighters from other countries, and gives them the chance to train with firefighters in the U.S.

Tuesday’s mission was about live fire training. The team went into a burning building and learned how recognize hot spots and flashes. Flashes are when all the items in one room reach a certain temperature where they can spontaneously combusted.

There’s no doubt the group of heroes that trained Tuesday took away valuable lessons that will help them back home.
