TACOMA, WA – Coke and a smile? How about Coke and a frown?

Coca-Cola is apologizing after tempers began fizzing over the words “YOU RETARD” were printed on the inside of a vitamin water bottle cap. It was found by this Tacoma, Washington man’s daughter, who lives in Canada.

“I said, ‘you’ve got to be kidding,'” said Doug Loates, father.

Yea, if that’s not bad enough, wait until you hear this: that word particularly struck a chord with Doug. His other daughter, 11-year-old Fiona, has cerebral palsy and autism. What are the odds?

Coca Cola’s defense?

“Coca Cola said the words printed under the caps were part of a promotional campaign in Canada, where a random English word was matched with a random French word,” said Doug.

In French, that word means late or delayed. Well, here are a few words coca cola should add to their dictionary: damage control.
